Thank you! Our fragile democratic experiment that began 250 years ago is at risk. We never expected a sitting president to expose these weaknesses. They have always respected political norms, checks and balances, and our Constitutional rights. Thank you for introducing the NOPE Act and encouraging the states to add their protections. Could Congress do more to get people on record as supporting or disagreeing with Administration actions? So what if you don't have the votes? Put people on notice and get them on the record, then let the voters decide in November.
Sorry, but this doesn't work. Why? Because I read everything from the NYT to the NYP. Experts and law professors and lawyers all have a different interpretation of what is or is not Constitutional. And only the Supreme Court can decide the answer in each question. Example: Yesterday, a Reagan appointed judge called the administration authoritarian, involved in a conspiracy to deny rights, and accused them of doing something blatantly unconstitutional. People hear that and celebrate. I'm 99% positive that ruling will be overturned as soon as it reaches the Supreme Court, if it even makes it that far. But he was certain.
People and some judges who really aren't qualified in some cases are too sure of themselves in deciding what is and isn't correct according to the direct reading of that Document. And, it hurts the whole nation to run around telling people this or that is unconstitutional, getting them worked up only to find out that was a lie.
I'm a New Yorker and am glad to hear my governor is stepping up also 👍
She turned out to be pretty awesome

No more splitting hairs. It was fascism then. It is fascism now. Call it out. https://harrychancey.substack.com/p/bluebird
