As a civil servant, I thank you for publicizing what we are going through. The loyalty essays and new requirements for completing probation have many/most of us highly alarmed to say the least. This is how you build a bureaucracy that will facilitate fascism.
I am astounded that trust in government has improved since Trump beccame president! I guess it depends on whom you ask. Exact opposite results for trust in democracy were seen among political scientists (https://brightlinewatch.org/) earlier this year but the site hasn't published anything online since.
