Thank you for this clarity. I don't know anyone who actually thinks that what ICE is doing is about immigration or law enforcement but it's still important to name what's happening properly. We--average citizens---are under attack by our own government and we need to know that so we can try to prepare for it. Our own tax dollars are being used to pepper-spray us, to assault us, to incarcerate us in torture camps. That's where we're at.
While we're dispensing with euphemisms, these "immigration crackdown" are *also* about racial cleansing [1]. According to FactCheck.org, only 31.8% of those arrested by ICE have criminal convictions as of Oct 2025 [2]. Furthermore, "nearly 43% of those detained had no convictions or charges, according to publicly available ICE data".
The violent crackdowns serve two goals for the regime: to throw red meat to the white nationalist faction of the MAGA movement and to intimidate those who might protest the rise of fascism in the United States. Expensive detention center -- really, concentration camps -- are in the works; the administration will seek to fill them and will not readily tolerate opposition to them.
The Absolute Immunity thing is a literal Joke and those who take that at Face value will find out just how everybody Now in Trumps ( I say Trumps too) administration and in the past have got thrown under the bus. I’m not sure how or why anybody who has eyes does not know this.
Even the Military in an active wartime situation still have to abide by laws set forth and that is sanctioned killing. It boggles my mind how any agent acting on behalf of Trump ( not our country) can even believe for a minute that they will get absolute immunity.
This is what the use of Masks are for. If they just hide the face from facial recognition then they can’t be held to account? Ok, keep thinking that.
Maybe gnome assigns them a number and hides their name? Still, those checks have to go to someone.

What do you suggest we refer to these incidents as instead? “Crackdowns” also implies that laws are being enforced which is also incorrect.
Regarding so-called "immigration enforcement", of course I agree with you.
As to the rest of the post, it's always good to read some positive developments.
