The first that was attacked tried that approach but some other firms refused and started trying to steal their clients. Sad that so many lawyers are not as principled as those that signed the letter. Guess we will find out who stands up for the rule of law and who doesn’t
Is it true that some firms did try to band together to oppose the administration’s actions only to be met with poaching of attorneys for their own benefit?
Collective action is the only effective response. Law firms (and universities) that cut deals with this Administration are myopic and push us farther down the road to autocracy. fedbudgetguy.substack.com
I signed onto the letter yesterday (April 2). I was a lawyer at DOJ in the Federal Programs Branch and a prosecutor in the D.C. US Attorney's Office back in the 1990's. I noticed on my LinkedIn Page that my LinkedIn was searched/visited by someone from the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (Tulsi Gabbard). That timing seems no mere coincidence. Anyone else notice anything similar? If so, we need to make something of this.
Trump’s EO (not a law) refers to “illegal DEI.” Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (a law) says quotas & discrimination are unlawful. DEI is neither and not illegal. Also, pro-DEI is not anti-White, but anti-DEI is anti-POC.
Why don’t the firms band together and confront trump with a unified approach?

113 have indeed stood up (thank goodness!) and hundreds more signed on to the amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie -- https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.278290/gov.uscourts.dcd.278290.63.3_2.pdf
Not enough, but it's something.
Well said. No bending to this intimidation tactic.
It does my heat good to see people standing up for America

It was law firms poaching the lawyers from the firms that caved to trump. Also, some of the principled lawyers from the ones that caved, quit.

My bit of resistance was to stand at PaulWeiss San Francisco office entrance with my sign saying:
SHAME ON PAUL WEISS
They caved in to Felon Trump
&
His Evil Fascist Tyranny
I’ll be returning there next week.
All,
I signed onto the letter yesterday (April 2). And that’s how it’s done, America. You hear that, Paul Weiss and Skadden Arps?
“ILLEGAL DEI” ISN’T
Trump’s EO (not a law) refers to “illegal DEI.” Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (a law) says quotas & discrimination are unlawful. DEI is neither and not illegal. Also, pro-DEI is not anti-White, but anti-DEI is anti-POC.
